Reza Pourvaziry established the International Art & Architecture Research Association (IAARA) in 2003 with the main goal of professionaly training urban managers. Since then IAARA has organized over thirty workshops, seminars, conferences and specialized courses in more than a dozen countries throughout the world.
With over ten programs, IAARA has firmly established itself in Iran as a pioneer in the fields of art, architecture and urban research.
IAARA would go on to be recognized as the Iranian partner and representative of the Best Practices & Local Leadership Program (BLP) of UN-HABITAT with Reza Pourvaziry serving as a member of its steering committee.
As the Secretary General of the World Olympiad for Urban Design (WOUD), Reza is currently involved in etablishing the first of many cycles of these important urban olympiads to enhance the urban space quality of all the cities in the world.
He is also the director and editor of the international "Urban Space Journal", in addittion to serving as Vice Chairman of the MOST programme of the Iranian National Commission for UNESCO.
